Thank you for your custom, friendship and support over the time we’ve been open. Auto22 was set up by Catch22 to get young people, not in education, training or employment, into work, and we are so proud of all it has achieved. We’ve had a brilliant success rate, with the vast majority going on to successful careers. This is something that we would never have been able to have achieved without the support of our customers.
However, it’s a tough market out there, and put simply – we weren’t able to make enough money to keep them open. Our running costs are higher than a normal garage, as they include our apprenticeship training programme. A very competitive local market and changes to the motor industry as a whole meant that we are no longer able to make the garages work.
From all at Auto22 and Catch22, thank you for your support and all the best in the future.
What should I do if I have a question about work done to my car?
You will still be able to contact our Business Manager Mark Townsend until the 24th January on 07879 644665. After that you will still be able to access records by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
Do you have any more garages I can go to?
No, unfortunately we are closing both of our Auto22 sites in Paddock Wood and Gravesend.
Is there anywhere else you would recommend I take my car that also has a social impact?
First Step Trust operate social enterprise garages in Bexley and South East London. A little further away, Community Motors in South West London is also a social enterprise.
Who will be taking over the garage sites?
We don’t know at this time, but we hope that there may continue to be garages operating out of Paddock Wood and Gravesend to maintain this valuable local service.
